Villu Reef: Now both on the island and on the reef!

(Visit Report 07/08 April 2005)

Our Operations Controller Ali Shameem and our Customer Service Officer Rifhath Jaleel went on a discovery trip to one of most southern resorts in the tourist zone of the Maldives. They visited the completely renovated Resort Island Villu Reef and its brand new Water Village with 35 Water Bungalows, 5 Honeymoon Suites and a Presidential Suite, all built in the reef.

They took off from Male on TMA’s DHC-6 Twin Otter flying first from the Airport then over Male and later to the South Male atoll.

While flying over South Male atoll Shameem and Jaleel were seated behind the cockpit  and made transit-stop  at the  neighboring Velavaru Resort both in Dhaal Atoll.

From the air it was already clear how much Villu Reef had been expanded with the 41 bungalow Water Village.

Just before the landing we zoomed on this large water bungalow park on the reef.

After landing at the platform a Dhoni took them both to the brand new jetty at Villu Reef.

The Assistant Manager Rasheed took them for a welcome drink to the bar and then for check-in.

Then they were immediately off on an extensive tour of the island with a start at the Spa and the Fitness Center.

Next was one of  the Garden Villa’s.

Thereafter the tour continued with the beautiful beach Bungalow.

From here we went to the large new pool and the new a la carte restaurant on the way to the water village.

The new water bungalows are very spacious and nicely decorated.

They have a large sun deck, open air bath tub and Island view.

There is an extensive diving school.

The main restaurant has been expanded and upgraded with life cooking.

There is also a nice sea view.

One  resort guest seems to be returning every day and is not even charged!

With all these expansions, a complete renovation, the additional 40 water bungalows, the swimming pool, the a la carte restaurant etc., unnecessary to say Villu Reef Resort & Spa is worth a visit by others to follow Shameem and Jaleel!.
