Float Repair |
Both aircraft damaged in the Tsunami
disaster have meanwhile been repaired and so has one of the floats. The
second float is still undergoing repairs as shown in the
pictures. We hope to have the new skin sheet fitted again soon by the sheet
metal workers team, so the painters can apply finally the company colors.

Desalination Plant |
All the new and repaired spare
parts for the seriously damaged desalination plant have finally come in.
The assembly, calibration and commissioning is now in its final stages.
We expect to have tomorrow again our “own” sweet water supplies, so we
are no longer handicapped by water rationing.

Aircraft Painting |

With less demand for aircraft for our operation we have now time to
finish putting our new livery on the remaining 3 aircraft, which could
not be done last summer, since we did not really have the expected off
peak. One aircraft (8Q-TMJ) is in the hanger being painted, while the
second aircraft (8Q-TML) is outside the hanger being prepared for the
stripping of the various layers of old paint to commence in the next few
days. The third aircraft (8Q-TMA) is just out of the water and will be
last in line for the new livery to be applied. Last, sixth photo shows
an aircraft (8Q- TMK) in new livery after some checks
being re-launched into the water from the trolley used to
transport our aircraft to the hanger.

Jetty Piling

As all our jetties washed effectively away, were broken and ended up
scattered across the airport , even on the runway and in the fuel form,
drastic improvements were considered necessary. The old anchoring system
has now been replaced with large steel pipes driven into the coral
harbour. You see now pictured how the new home made attachments are
being affixed as to enable the dock to keep moving with the tide, but
preventing escapes or breakage of the brand new jetties
