We left Male’
International Airport on our way to South Ari Atoll.

Half an hour
later we landed at Angaga Island Resort & Spa, one of the smaller
resorts Trans Maldivian flies to with 70 rooms of which 20 are brand new
water - bungalows.

It can be seen
both from the air and on the island: Angaga features on all sides all
around the island wide, white beaches with both soft and fine sand on
the beach and in the water of the lagoon.

Angaga takes
also pride in its greenery, flower and ponds in the interior of the
island, which give it a unique setting.

The resort has a
Sub Aqua Diving School which was recently awarded in Germany as the best
in the Maldives.

Once the weekend
was over we took another seaplane – flight back to Male’ after the Dhoni
had delivered us to the platform.

The beach
Bangalows do have adequate sea – view, yet are also protected and hidden
in the greenery ample available.

The 20 water
Bangalows are brand new and close to their “own” Sun Down Bar.

Dining
facilities and baths are spacious and have good view of both the Beach,
the Lagoon and the Sea .

We went with the
resort owner on a trip by speedboat to the southern most end of the Ari
Atoll to see if we could spot the well known Whale-Shark feeding on
plankton. We came across some dolphins en route and managed to swim
close to such a Whale – Shark three times, thus a successful outing
indeed!

After an active
day we were well treated to relax in the Coconut Spa of the resort,
which is again located nicely in greenery and with some fresh ponds with
beautiful lotus flowers.

While in Angaga
the change of the monsoon made it necessary to change the position of
the platform to be anchored elsewhere in the shelter of the island.

When we asked the owner, his
management –team and the reception, why they did so exceptionally well
in retaining their guests compared to last year, they were unanimous in
their opinion: A small resort with unique features such as beach,
diving, excellent food and friendly, caring staff and guest – oriented
management. |
